Reception Admissions

All parents who wish to send their children to Five Ways School are required to complete the Local Authority application form. The Local Authority admissions policy will determine which children are admitted.  Priority will be given to 'catchment area' children and to siblings of children presently at Five Ways School.  The catchment area is defined by Local Authority, details of which are available either from school or through the admissions department.  Parents of pupils who are not allocated a place may appeal through the standard procedures.  Details of this are also available from the school or from the admissions department.  The school published admission number (PAN) is 90.  Children are admitted to Reception classes in the September of the academic year during which their fifth birthday falls.

Parents of children born between 1 September 2021 and 31 August 2022 have until 15 January 2026 to apply for a primary school place for the academic year starting in September 2026.  Follow this link to find some key pointers for completing your primary school application 7 Things to Do When Applying to Primary Schools | The Good Schools Guide

Applications can be made from the 1st November. For more information, follow this link Admission to primary and middle schools - Staffordshire County Council

Class Structure and Organisation

At Five Ways we believe that all children can succeed and use our creative culture to ensure that our curriculum inspires and challenges pupils regardless of ability or background.

At Five Ways Primary bchildren in each year group are taught in mixed attainment classes.

Please be assured that the decision to move to mixed attainment classes has been made following careful consideration and is supported by a substantial body of educational research. Evidence consistently shows that mixed attainment teaching benefits all pupils—academically, socially, and emotionally—by promoting inclusive learning environments, encouraging collaboration, and allowing for more flexible and responsive teaching. Please be reassured that all staff are committed to ensuring that every child continues to receive the support and challenge they need to thrive.
