Remembrance Poem! - 09/01/2026

All pupils and staff took part in a minutes silence at 11 o’clock on Tuesday 11th November to commemorate Remembrance Day. Pictured here are
some of our pupils with Miss Kershaw representing Five Ways. Cece N, who is in Year 6 in Miss Lane’s class, wrote a poem and read her poem during the
Remembrance Day Service held at St John’s Church. See below a copy of Cece’s poem called ‘Poppies’;
As red as a blood-stained shirt,
As bright as the smiles on the soldiers faces when returning home,
As important as the fallen soldier’s hearts,
As special as every kind-hearted soul lost,
As significant as the worn-out gun used in the dirty war,
As proud as a soldier finishing a long job that made history,
As symbolic as the wooden cross found in churches,
As respectful as old memories brought back.
